2016 – A year to look forward to with much anticipation, especially when you are a Modern quilt maker. It seems that this will be our year as Chatelaine Magazine has said that one of the top 10 trends for the coming year is Modern Quilting and we aim to be a big part of that trend.
We have increased our membership for the coming year yet want to keep our close knit group who are – so supportive, sharing and just down right awesome!
In the coming months you can expect to be wowed by our group and yet learn new sewing techniques and trends that are constantly being renewed and reinvigorated throughout the sewing world. We will be changing the format of our meetings * more news to follow on that * and since we are growing we are looking at a bigger location. Stitch has been wonderful to host us, and their quilt store setting is ideal but we’ve grown so much it’s time to spread our wings a bit.
For those who can’t remember ( in all the Christmas hubbub ) the challenge for January is an Urban Scene. Our next meeting is 7 pm Wednesday January 13, 2016 at Stitch, in Jordan, Ontario.
We wrapped up 2015 and our December meeting with a fun idea – make a zippered bag and/or a pincushion and exchange it in a Round Robin type way. The skill and ingenuity of our members is unparalleled as you will see in the pics to follow. * please see our second post for those pictures * Special thanks for Tori & Tara for the pictures *
Plan ahead in 2016 to finish more UFO’s, learn something new all the time and whatever you are doing “Have Fun” and just let your imagination go wild. It’s the only way to be, “sew” be happy!
