October 2021 Guild Meeting
Special Guest: Andrea Tsang-Jackson
Andrea shared her slide presentation. It was wonderful to hear about her journey from architecture to pattern and fabric designer. She shared what inspires her designs and an insight to her design process. Some may know her for her transparency gemstone designs. Her most recent book,
Gemology, was the focus of her Saturday workshop that she presented to guild members. To find out more about Andrea and check out her patterns, click here to visit her website, 3rd StoryWorkshop. Sew N Tell
We love to sew and share what we have been up to. Enjoy the gallery of talented quilters in our group.
Karen J A ‘finish’ of a quilt top made back in the Spring (?) without a pattern but using light & dark fabric choices for contrasts; The batik scraps that I’d used reminded me of the fall colours, and I knew they would go so well in a friend’s decor, so I quilted it & gave it to her on Thanksgiving weekend. Her husband is asthmatic so I washed it twice before gifting it (batiks tend to have more chemicals left in them, I find) and it gave the quilt a very cozy feel not usually associated w/ Batik fabric. Karen J -Batiks Karen H This quilt was originally a jelly roll race that I madly assembled to distract me from the chaos of my 2 sons packing for a trip to Europe the morning of our departure!! Anyhow, it was a dog’s breakfast (both the quilt top and their suitcases!) and so I reinvented!
