education

One of the greatest strengths of our guild is the wide range of learning opportunities available. We offer ZoomBees, virtual and in person workshops, challenges and more. And if you want to strengthen or learn a new skill, we welcome you to practice by participating in Quilting Kindness, our charity quilt program serving Niagara region.

Quilting kindness

Quilting Kindness is comprised of guild members who make and deliver quilts to those in need across Niagara region. In our most recent effort, we donated 23 quilts to Harriett Tubman public school in St. Catharines. The principal and vice principal were thrilled to have them for their “Gift of Giving” program.

From Our President

“Did you mark April 14th in your calendar?? Just in case you didn’t (lol) our face-to-face meeting in a very, very long time will be held at the Meridian Centre in Fonthill at 7:00 PM. Plenty of parking and elevator available as our meeting room is located on second floor location. (Look for signage) We strongly encourage you to wear a mask during the meeting.

Come early to drop off your auction items to Heather Salter!

It’s spring!! Enjoy the nice weather.”

Take a photo of your finished quilt, email it to the guild under the heading, Modern Quilt Challenge, and your names will go into a draw for a prize.

Christmas in May

At long last we are hosting the 2021 Christmas Exchange at our May meeting, resurrecting the very popular STEAL.

Event Info
The gift this year is a 12” (finished) mini modern quilt. No parameters other than that, and even that is lax 🙂 If your mini turns out to be a rectangle or a wee bit bigger the quilt police will not be called. Just have fun creating a unique piece for a quilting buddy. For full details, refer to the April newsletter!
